Citizen Comments:

Maria DiCicco
If council approves all items they will have approved over 4 millions dollars. People are out of work and raising property rates. Spending needs to slow down. You need to re-adjust and city needs to slow down the spending. Who on council is reaching out to Austin to ask to roll back our appraisals.

Jacob Divorsic
Get a solicitors license re-issued. His license was suspended. If he can meet or exceed standards this is unfair to him and his primary advertisements door - to- door. Knock and stand back 6 feet and has a sign to list his services and pricing. If person comes out, he will put on the mask and ask them to call him. This will limit the contact with the customer and not transfer the virus.

Jimmy Davis
Independent audit wanted an audit and looked forward to the results. Reported to the council. Spoke with 14 city employees. not a single statement by the city managers. Water read change came from City Manager. Senior admin directed to staff and staff implemented with no follow up from Senior Staff. Management didn't want anyone to raise concerns. Hard to keep good employees. Morale is low and stressful. Billing Manager asked for additional staff and the compensation doesn't allow for experienced people. Still understaffed. So many managers exist but we need another managers.

Jeff Hunkele
As you are well aware many of us are getting our property tax forms for 2020 and are being shocked by yet another increase but this time it comes in the form of increased home appraisal values.

Back in Sept, I spoke to council and voiced my opposition to council voting to raise the property tax rate, but that opposition was ignored and the rate was increased. Now the increased appraised value is compounding that issue due to that voted increase. I spoke out against the excess Budget spending and that council needs to decrease the bloated budget. I was again ignored and the budget passed. I see week after week hundreds of thousands of dollars being approved like there is no limit.

Then we come to the water billing issues and then myself and others have spoken out against. We asked for an independent audit but you hired a company you frequently do work with and ignore the request of the very citizens that put you in those seats. You stated in multiple meetings how sorry you are and you know the public has lost trust in council.

Now these same people are being affected by this pandemic that has put yet another burden on their lives. It's now time to stop opposing the complaints of the citizens and do the right thing. The mayor and city council of Santa Fe have submitted a letter to their Appraisal District asking them to freeze appraisal values and leave them to what they were last year to help ease the pain of the financial hardship people are experiencing. All I'm asking is for you to write and submit a letter and I can send you the letter Santa Fe used. If people continue to see council voting to raise and spend without the concern of the average citizen, they will know they voted the wrong people to represent them.

If you are truly sorry for making decisions people don't agree with and want to start gaining back the trust of the citizens of Pearland, this is 1 small step to show us you are willing to help us in our time of need. You may be in a better financial situation but some of the citizens aren't as fortunate.

Thank you for your time.
